Resident Undergraduate Student Meal Plans
Undergraduate Residents are required to choose from one of three Meal Plans (A, B, or C) when living on campus. All Residents are initially placed in Meal Plan A when their Housing Deposit is received. Residents have the option to change their Meal Plan between May 16 and September 9, 2022 using the Anchor (GET) Mobile Dining App.
Meal Plan A is the recommended Plan for Residents, providing 17 meals per week and $400 in Flex Meal Points for the semester.
Dining Services encourages Residents to choose Meal Plan A as it offers the greatest value over cost of any of the Resident Undergraduate Meal Plans when fully utilized.
Meal Plan A offers Residents over $400 in additional value for $134 more in price, when compared to Meal Plan B
Meal Plan A offers Residents over $600 in additional value for $266 more in price, when compared to Meal Plan C

Dining Services offers a wide variety of food and beverage options at various service stations in DDC that Residents may choose from.

Free Mobile Dining App Service
Residents are encouraged to download the free Anchor Mobile Dining App to change their Meal Plan option, monitor meal and Flex Point orders and to order ahead. In addition, Residents may use the mobile app to order a Convenience Meal or food service should they be required to isolate or quarantine.
Nutrition counseling is available to RIC students during the academic year. The services of a Licensed, Registered Dietitian are available to students wanting information on general nutrition, weight management, food allergies, or specific therapeutic diets. In addition to nutrition consultations, dining tours, group classes, and taste demos are other resources provided to enhance your academic and campus life experience. The nutrition office is located in the Faculty Center and appointments can be made by emailing Bethany Tucker RD,LDN at email@example.com.

How do these plans work?
Each Meal Plan consists of guaranteed number of meals per week (Sunday-Saturday) and a set amount of Flex Meal Points for use during the semester.
Three Plan options are available to allow Residents to choose which Meal Plan will best fit their lifestyle and their budget.
Additional value to our Resident Students.
Throughout each semester Dining services offers a number of Special Themed Dinners. There is no additional charges for Residents to attend these dinners. Special Themed Dinners will be advertised in advance so all residents will know about them.
How can I voice my opinion in regards to Dining Services?
Your feedback is critical to us. Residents are encouraged to participate and serve on the Food Service Advisory Board. You may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or speak with the manager on duty.
What do I do if I must miss a meal because of my schedule?
What do I do if I go over the dollar limit when purchasing a meal?
You may pay the difference using your Flex Meal Points, cash, Visa or Master Card.
Do unused Flex Meal Points carry over to the next Semester?
Unused Flex Meal Points do not carry over into the next Semester.
When can the Meal Plan be used?
This Meal Plan can be used seven days per week in the Donovan Dining Center.
Are accommodations available for special dietary needs?
Yes. We do assist Residents with special dietary needs. We provide gluten free and meatless options on a daily basis at both locations. We also support a number of Residents who are in need of special diets for medical reasons. Dining Services also offers dietary, nutritional, and related consultations with our Resident Dietitian, Bethany Tucker, R.D., LDN (401) 456-8477 free of charge.
Where can I use my meals?
All meals must be used in the Donovan Dining Center. A variety of menu items will be available during the times listed for each meal period.
Where can I use my Flex Meal Points?
Flex Meal Points can be used at Donovan Dining Center, The Café located in the Student Union, and vending machines throughout campus.
Which Meal Plan is the best?
All Residents are encouraged to choose Plan A which offers the highest number of meals per week (17), the most Flex Points per semester ($400), and the greatest value compared to cost.
Residents who choose Plan A have the opportunity to receive over $350 more in value than cost, when fully utilizing their Plan.
Can I use more than one meal at a meal period?
Yes. Residents may purchase up to 3 meals during one meal period, up to the weekly number of meals in their chosen plan per week, for added convenience. This is designed to assist Residents in fully utilizing and maximizing plan value.
